Allyssa Arredondo, an 8th grader at MacArthur Intermediate, has been selected as the recipient of the "Athlete of the Month Award" for March 2022.
Allyssa has improved by a long shot from the first day of practice to now 7 months later. Specifically in her commitment of what a RunStrong athlete has to undergo and persevere on a daily basis is not easy, but Allyssa has bloomed and made it her goal to pull through the morning and weekend runs to grow to the best of her ability. She has earned solid grades, helps tutor other students that are in need of academic support in AVID, and is in the dance team. Allyssa has always had a sweet personality and understands that she can make a positive difference anywhere she goes. What I appreciate from Allyssa is her ability to speak up for herself, her instilled confidence, and her heart of courage when it comes to taking on new challenges that make a difference.
